EnergyIT produces software to make the most out of energy consumption data, capturing its meaning and presenting its significance. The software utilizes various comparative measurement and verification protocols developed by the University of Florida’s (UF) Program for Resource Efficient Communities (PREC). EnergyIT is a start-up company born out of Acceleration.net in 2010 after a small software project begun in 2008 matured into the full featured EnergyIT platform evolving today.
EnergyIT’s efforts stem from several core beliefs:
- Sustainable resource management is the key to planning our global energy future.
- Information technology is a foundational tool in the sustainable management of human, financial, and natural resources.
- The “utility” of energy comes from the products, services, and quality of life it enables. EnergyIT brings the information technology necessary to provide this utility for the least cost.
- Energy conservation and efficiency are vast untapped resources in most communities…resources extracted by drilling down and mining the data as a new fuel for the human endeavor.
